If you are applying for
a permit (New Construction, Addition, Tree Removal,
Location or Pruning) and it effects Trees on your
property, city reviewers will request an Arborist
report from a Board Certified Master Arborist as
part of the permit process.
An arborist report serves to identify tree type and
species, document the health and overall condition
of the tree, and offers recommendations for each
tree in question. The report also serves to
highlight any existing issues, damage, or areas of
concern. In addition, the report provides additional
information regarding the condition of sites, any
threats stemming from disease or pest infestation,
or other injuries. Remedial actions are also
recommended if applicable and include actions such
as site remediation, fertilization, injections to
increase vigor, pest control, air spading to examine
and remedy root issues, or pruning and removal.
Arborist Reports are also needed in order to prepare
other documents in the permit process such as Tree
Preservation plan and Tree Survey.
